Liberty-Z Server
Sharing Knowledge Worldwide
Liberty-Z is a z39.50 window into your catalogue of
information. This utility will publish your catalogue
to all z39.50 clients around the world. People using
BookWhere, EndNote, Znavigator, WinPAC, and many other
applications will be able to search and retrieve records
from your catalogue with ease. Add your library to
a growing list of over 700 institutions around the
world providing catalogue access through the z39.50
communications protocol. Become part of a virtual
union catalogue, where each library implements the
same z39.50 compliance available with Liberty-Z. Search
all of these catalogues at once!
The z39.50 Protocol
z39.50 is an international standard defining a protocol
for information retrieval between server and clients.
z39.50 makes it possible for a user in one system
to search and retrieve information from other computer
systems (that have also implemented z39.50) without
knowing the search syntax that is used by each of
those systems.

E-reference
e-reference is a web-based, searchable reference desk
for libraries. It allows reference librarians to keep
track of reference requests, the answers they have
given, and how long it took to answer the questions.
Searchable
All answered questions are searchable by librarians
and patrons, helping prevent duplicate work. e-reference
is web-based, and can be run on an intranet or on
the world wide web, allowing the appropriate level
of access to libraries in different locations.
Notifications
Librarians can be notified by email when new requests
are entered, and patrons can be notified when their
requests have been filled.
Compatibility with Liberty3
e-reference can be configured to share users' profiles
with your Liberty3 system thus saving you from maintaining
separate datasets of similar information. The OPAC
search can automatically 'include' all reference questions
as part of any OPAC search strategy. This ability
enriches the Library databases available to the OPAC
user and saves time for reference staff.
Requirements
e-reference requires a Windows-based server running
IIS or Apache

Equality
Manage Your Records Online
Equality is a web-based records management utility.
It is the finest way to manage hanging files, boxed
records, and other physical media. Equality will allow
businesses to keep track of all their files, and find
exactly the right file at exactly the right time.
Fast and Secure
Equality uses a hierarchical classification scheme
that can be configured to suit the needs of your business.
This scheme is available and viewable by everyone
in the organisation, so filing new materials is easy.
Classes of records, and individual records, may be
set to varying levels of security, allowing users
to see only the files which are of interest to them.
With proper cataloguing, Equality can also provide
the contents of stored files. The files may stay safely
stored while authorised users have access to their
contents.
Compatibility with Liberty3
Equality can be configured to share users' profiles
with your Liberty3 system thus saving you from maintaining
separate datasets of similar information.
Reporting
There are a number of pre-defined reports that can
be run at any time. Both Classification and Volumes
reporting are supported, and reports are fully customisable.
